Community of Hope Food Pantry is affiliated with Churches United of the Quad Cities. We serve people living in the area from Brady Street west to Interstate 280 and Kimberly Road north to Interstate 80. Participants living in the defined area may receive food once every 4 weeks, they will need a photo ID and proof of address (mail with their name and current address), and ID for each member in their household.
The Food Pantry is open every Monday evening from 6-7:30 pm. and is staffed by 4-7 volunteers during that time. Many other volunteers help throughout the week stocking shelves, packing boxes, cleaning, sorting canned goods, purchasing food, transporting, and administration.
Most of the food is purchased from the River Bend Food Bank. We also accept donations of non-perishable food, personal care items (soap, toothbrushes, tooth paste, TP, diapers etc) and financial contributions from various schools, businesses, individuals, clubs, churches and other organizations. Every dollar donated goes to purchase food for the pantry, there are no administration expenses. Your donations of funds and/or non-perishable food items are always gladly accepted. For every dollar donated, the Food Pantry can purchase 7 lb. of food! So your financial contribution to Food Pantry can go a long long way to help fight hunger in the Quad City area. All financial contributions are tax deductible.
